~ NEW EMAIL ~

Stillwind’s former email account will be closed by May 10. Emails will be forwarded until then.
Stillwind is not a humanless entity. I am a person & I have values that, if tended to, affect my decision-making despite the inconvenience. The world has witnessed a genocide unfold through screens. Over 34,000 mothers, fathers, children, elders, lovers no longer here to dream, to stare at the moon we all know, to breathe deeply as dawn breaches, to embrace all they love. Palestine will be free from the destruction & perils of occuption.
Does it not feel soulless to behave solely on the guidelines of business? Because bringing up the breath being stolen from the living is political & all us living folk ought not be political? The people of Palestine are being forcibly placed under famine. Purposefully starved by an opposing government. While I am proud of this work of growing, it is not because people want to buy vegetables. The only thing I hate about this job is the fact that it is not simple because transaction, commerce, the sale of a good, is not simple today. The complexity of disbursing fresh food to the community, or even to the neighbors is haunting.
Yet, I was once a child taught that food is a human right. It is a basic need. We all need it. Broadly speaking, we are inspired by food & ritual of sharing a meal. There are paths that my life could have taken where I might have neglected these fundamental lessons. The power of privatizing every single basic human need severs our capacity to consider a bigger, humanized picture. But of course, of course! Food is our life force! Just the same as the sacred flowing waters & the blooming spring air; we belong to one another & we belong to this earth.
Amidst dark realities I think that it is important to be emotional & honest & proactive alongside one another. To remember one another. To practice. To look outside the narratives of violence, control, hubris, short-sightedness, oppression, progress.
Resources about Google:
~ New CSA Sign-Up Location ~
I have gone back & forth on the best format for CSA sign-ups, which has probably been kind of confusing from a customer perspective. Google Forms checkout, Square online checkout, etc. It’s all quite overwhelming to me, a not so internet-savvy person. But some good news! With Stillwind’s ongoing divestment from the corporate tech world, we’ve been led to a long-term nest! Going forward, all CSA sign-ups can be completed through GrownBy, a farmer-owned cooperative that “aims to build a more just and sustainable future for food and the farmers who make it possible. In 2019, Farm Generations Cooperative launched GrownBy, the first free and farmer-owned software platform”. I have goals to expand & adapt our sliding scale model, to extend into the winter months, offer accessible / EBT CSA shares, work in collaboration with other farmers. All of these feel aligned & a step towards.
At checkout, members will have the option to choose a payment schedule of their choice (weekly, monthly, in full), opt in for offline payment methods, & create an account that will allow streamlined communication with Stillwind.
That being said, we would love for you to become a CSA Member today! To farm with intention takes community :)
