FAQ
What can I expect to pickup each week?
As a CSA member, you’ll be sampling the season, cherishing the unique flavors of the middle-west growing cycle. Each week is a bit different, but for your own kitchen planning purposes, we do follow a consistent share “formula”. This looks like one or more of each category listed:
~ A greens choice ….spring mix, spicy mix, arugula, kale, chard, lettuce heads, pea shoots, cabbage, bok choy
~ An allium ….scallions, garlic, fresh onions, garlic scapes, storage onion, shallots, leeks
~ A root crop ….fresh radish, storage radish, turnips, carrots, beets
~ An herb choice ….dill, cilantro, basil, parsley, tulsi, hyssop, thyme, sage, rosemary
~ Something special ….fennel, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, summer squash, kohlrabi, sweet peppers, hot peppers, winter squash, broccolini, potatoes, watermelon, etc.
What if I miss a pickup?
A few options!
Whole & Half Share members are both able to claim 2 vacation weeks throughout the 18 week period. Once a vacation week is claimed on GrownBy, we will add your credit ($20 or $35 / pickup) to a Stillwind Market Card that can be used year-round at our Fulton St Market booth. This process must be done prior to a given pickup in order for credit to be claimed.
We are also happy to accommodate a pickup location change / late pickup on the farm. This can be done on the GrownBy app or by emailing Michelle at stillwind_csa@protonmail.com. So for instance, if you are unable to make it to the Wednesday GR pickup, but could come out to the farm on Thursday afternoon, we are happy to have a share set aside for you.
Send a friend, housemate, neighbor, or family member to pickup in your place. We love a community effort.
Can you explain the difference between a Whole & Half share?
Our Whole Share consists of at least $35 worth of fresh produce each week. This is generally our recommended share for a small family (2-4) that cooks with produce a few times / week. For example:
~ 1 bag of spring mix ($6)
~ 1 bunch of carrots or beets ($5)
~ 1 bunch of parsley or cilantro ($3)
~ 1 lb Storage onions & 1 garlic bulb ($6)
~ Winter squash ($5)
~ 2 sweet peppers ($4)
~ 1 lb heirloom tomato ($6)
The Half Share is also a weekly pickup (PSA this is a change from our bi-weekly pickup that we have previously offered)! Each share will hold $20 worth of fresh produce. For example:
~ 1 bag of spring mix ($6)
~ 1 bunch carrots or beets ($5)
~ 1 lb storage onions ($3)
~ 1 bunch of parsley or cilantro ($3)
~ 1/2 lb of heirloom tomatoes ($3)

~ We have a SNAP only CSA checkout that can will be used for payments weekly come June.
